Tarzan Ball is a tricky hook-and-pull physics game

tarzanball
So, you're a ball. A Tarzan Ball, to be precise. You've earned the nickname thanks to your astonishing ability to shoot out a lengthy 'vine' (I hope it's a vine) at objects, and then pull yourself towards those objects.

That's a handy ability to have, especially since you've got no legs, no arms, and no other means of transportation. In Tarzan Ball, the rope is everything. But you don't just swing around the screen aimlessly - that wouldn't be much of a game now, would it?

Instead, your goal in life is to collect "targets". Each level has one of these "targets" hidden away somewhere on the screen, usually behind some kind of barrier. Once you navigate close enough to the target, you can shoot your rope at it and just reel it in. That's when you pass the level.

You can't die in this game, but it can still be very frustrating. It's actually one of the tougher games I've posted recently. Still, if you enjoy physics games, this one is quite nicely made.

[This is actually the sequel to IQ Ball, which we covered last year! -Ed]

Google Gives Talk Users Something to Squawk About

The Google Talk chat application went down some time on Wednesday night, provoking many users to anger. Some said they had switched temporarily to Skype or Twitter. Google posted updates regularly on its App Status website, and began restoring service on a rolling basis. The problem apparently also affected the Google+ Hangouts service. Some reports said Gmail had also been impacted. "The problems with Google Talk and Hangouts are now resolved for everyone," said Google spokesperson Iska Hain. "We apologize for the inconvenience."

OnLive bringing console gaming to Google TV

OnLive

We have incredible 3D games built for Android tablets -- titles like Shadowgun or Max Payne -- but what's been missing out of great games has been Google TV. OnLive, the popular streaming service that brings actual desktop PC games to any screen, will change that. Using the OnLive Google TV app and a compatible controller, you'll have a huge library of PC games to choose from, all streamed directly to your big screen via your Google TV interface. All the features of the desktop client (for Windows and Mac) are on-board, including the spectating arena and multi-view play and chat. It's a great way to fill a gap in Google TV's content warehouse, and everyone loves games.

OnLive will be shipping on the Visio Co-Star, and will be coming to the LG G2 Smart TV in a future software patch. But the best news is that a stand-alone Google TV app is in the works that will install on any box or TV, so those of us who bought a competitors product aren't left out in the cold. No mention of when exactly we should expect the app is given, but we'll be watching Google Play for any news. Read what OnLive founder and CEO Steve Perlman has to say at the source link below.

FCC Gives ISPs Gold Star for Keeping Speed Promises

More Internet service providers are delivering on the download speeds they advertise, according to the United States Federal Communications Commission. In a report released on Thursday, the FCC stated that tests conducted in April showed that more ISPs delivered their promised speeds, compared to tests conducted in August. Further, ISPs as a whole are more consistent in their ability to deliver advertised speeds, and the difference between top performers and those at the bottom has narrowed. Finally, consumers are subscribing to faster speed tiers and receiving faster speeds, the FCC said.
